Andy Martino of SNY reports that the Mets are considering hiring Chili Davis as the team’s next bench coach.

Davis, 58, was recently fired by the Chicago Cubs, who he worked for in the same capacity this past season. Prior to that, he worked for the Boston Red Sox (2015-2017) and the Oakland Athletics (2012-2014).

This is the first known candidate that has emerged for the position since the firing of Pat Roessler on Monday amidst a coaching shakeup that the organization has undergone.
