Andy Martino of SNY reports that the Mets are meeting with Jim Riggleman soon to speak about the team’s bench coach opening.

Riggleman, 65, was fired by the Cincinnati Reds about a week ago. In addition to the Reds, Riggleman has also managed with the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals.

The Mets have been prioritizing coaches with National League managerial experience in order to help Mickey Callaway having coached only one season in the NL East.

Other candidates the Mets have considered to replace Gary DiSarcina are Fredi Gonzalez, Bryan Price, Pete Mackanin, and John Russell.
