With the Mets hitting the pause button on their road series against the Phillies while Philadelphia hosts a World Cup game at Lincoln Financial Field on Friday, all attention will be on the club’s minor league system.

The biggest storyline of the night is Francisco Lindor, as well as Tyrone Taylor, beginning their respective rehab assignments for Double-A Binghamton.

TRIPLE-A

NORFOLK (27-45) VS SYRACUSE (36-36)

6:35 PM

Left-hander Zach Thornton (3.81 ERA) gets the ball for Syracuse on Friday night after going just 2/3 of an inning his last time out on June 13 against Buffalo. Syracuse is looking to build off its thrilling extra-innings walk-off single by Cristian Pache on Thursday that was made possible by back-to-back solo home runs in the ninth inning from Ji Hwan Bae and Nick Morabito.
