Good morning, Mets fans!

The Mets were blown out 12-4 by the Giants at Citi Field on Sunday. Frankie Montas lasted just four innings, giving up seven runs and raising his ERA to 6.68. Austin Warren saved the bullpen with four scoreless innings, but the game was still enough out of reach that Carlos Mendoza had to turn to catcher Luis Torrens for the final out of the eighth. Francisco Alvarez was a bright spot in the loss, as he went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI.

Tonight, the Mets open their series against the Guardians with southpaw Sean Manaea (1-1, 2.08 ERA) on the mound. Cleveland will counter with right-hander Slade Cecconi (5-4, 3.77 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET and will air on SNY.
