Jerad Eickoff did it all on Tuesday, throwing six scoreless innings on the mound and hitting a 2-run home run in the third inning which gave Syracuse a lead they would never give up. Mason Williams had two doubles and scored a run, Sebastian Elizalde hit an RBI double, David Thompson hit an RBI double, and Quinn Brodey hit his third home run of the season.

Eickoff was efficient over his six innings of work, throwing only 81 pitches. Seth Lugo continued his rehab assignment, clearing another hurdle by throwing more than on inning for the first time as he nears a return to the major league team. While he gave up a run and made a throwing error, he threw 21 of his 33 pitches for strikes.
Corey Oswalt recorded a five out save, his first save of the season.

Binghamton showed some fight by losing a close game that they once trailed by six runs in the seventh inning. Carlos Cortes had a great offensive game. He hit his seventh and eighth doubles of the season and walked twice. He now has a 12.3 BB% and 17.3 K% on the season. Jake Mangum hit is first Double A home run and also stole a base.

Mark Vientos struggled, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, raising his K% to an alarming 36.6% in his first 71 plate appearances of the season. Yoel Romero had another nice game, going 2-for-4 with a couple of singles.

Tony Dibrell didn’t have his best game on Tuesday, giving up three runs in four innings and walking more batters than he struck out. Ryley Gilliam and Dan Goggin each had poor outings, giving up five runs between the two. Jared Robinson threw a scoreless eighth and ninth innings.

Brooklyn didn’t do much offensively on Tuesday, scoring only one run and one extra base hit. Ronny Mauricio hit an opposite field groundball single through the right side of the infield for his only hit of the night. Brett Baty was 0-for-4 with a couple of strikeouts and Francisco Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a single in his Brooklyn debut.

Starting pitcher Oscar Rojas struggled, giving up six runs in three innings. Hunter Parsons and Colby Morris each threw two scoreless innings in relief while Bryce Montes de Oca finally gave up a run. He had pitched six consecutive scoreless outings before he gave up two runs on Tuesday.

St. Lucie’s nine runs and 11 hits weren’t enough to overcome Daytona on Tuesday. Ranfy Adon led off and went 2-for-5 with a caught stealing. Shervyen Newton had another hitless night, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. His K% now sits at 42.9% through his first 84 plate appearances. Jaylen Palmer had a nice game, hitting a fly ball single, a line drive single, and drawing a walk.

Noah Syndergaard continued his rehab assignment but it didn’t go as planned. He was pulled from the game after only one inning due to elbow soreness. He didn’t allow any runs but his velocity dropped significantly towards the end of his outing. Junior Santos relieved Syndergaard and struggled, giving up five runs in one inning.
