Video: Buffalo Bisons Turn Three
While we were watching the Mets get pounded in Colorado last night, the Buffalo Bisons were busy putting on a good show for their fans in Coca Cola Field. Check out this video of the Buffalo Bisons turning a triple play against the Rochester Red Wings. The Bisons ended up losing the game 9-6 to Rochester, but unlike the Mets, at least they get credit for style points. Nice job guys!

Pelfrey Continues To Regress; Concern For 2010
As the Mets fell to the Rockies 8-3 last night, you couldn’t help but wonder about the makeup of Mike Pelfrey who continues to make the case that he may never be a number two or three pitcher. As Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez pointed out last night, Pelfrey is woefully short on guts and smarts when he’s on the mound. Pelfrey lasted just four innings, and allowed seven runs on six hits and five walks. The [...]

Why Tholmir May Not Be The Answer For 2010
Ask just about any Mets fan nowadays about who will be behind the plate in 2010, most will have no idea. And, I can’t really blame them, the Mets have not made getting a quality catcher a priority in the past few seasons, unless you call Brian Schneider and his .189/.272/.318 line quality. If you ask anyone connected to the Mets they’ll most likely say Josh Thole and Omir Santos, a tandem I dubbed Tholmir. [...]

Not to Point Out the Elephant in the Room…
At the risk of being called “Captain Obvious” and getting comments of “Gee, ya think?”, I wanted to point out that the Mets are out of the Playoff hunt, and the only thing meaningful about the end of the 2009 Mets season will be playing time for the prospects and maybe to play spoiler. Now that that’s been established and is out of the way: Why is David Wright in Tuesday’s lineup? Why, in fact, [...]

Heroes of 69: Donn Clendenon–The Final Piece Of The Puzzle
The 69 World Series saw Jerry Koosman pick up the W in 2 of the 4 Mets victories. His ERA was 2.04 and he allowed only 7 hits in 17 2/3 IP. Ron Swoboda hit .400 and made arguably one of the best catches in Series history. Tommie Agee outdid his teammate and made 2 unforgettable catches which will live forever in Mets folklore. However, none of these men would win the World Series MVP. [...]

Wright Taking The Right Precautions
Let’s rewind back to Saturday August 15th, 2009. It was a warm, sunny afternoon at Citi Field. The Mets and Giants were in the midst of a pitcher’s duel between two of the best in the game in Johan Santana and Matt Cain. All was going as planned, and both pitchers were in the midst of a shut out until the fourth inning. It was then that disaster struck. After throwing three consecutive fastball’s to [...]

MetsMerized Player Of The Month For August!
So another month ends in what seems to be the never ending saga of the 2009 Mets. In a month where the Mets put together only 10 wins, it’s hard to find hope in a lost season. No Met pitcher had more than 2 wins in August. It’s a bittersweet twist because it’s much easier for me to find a standout player, but i’d much rather have the problem of not knowing who to choose [...]

Mets VP Calls Madoff Claims Outrageous And Grossly Irresponsible
Yesterday, Erin Arvedlund, author of the book “Too Good To Be True”, appeared on FOX Business News and faced off against Mets VP of Business Operations, Dave Howard. Howard vehemently denied some of the charges that Arvedlund made in her book which claims that the Wilpons lost $700 million in the Madoff Ponzi scheme, and that it will force them to sell all or a part of the Mets. To watch the full video, check [...]
