Game Summary Wow, one of the best games of the year! The Mets were able to ride high on the strength of three homeruns and Santana’s seven innings pitched to win game one against the Phils 6-5. Mets Notes – Murphy and F-Mart Sit, Sheff and Church Play
This afternoon, J.J. Putz underwent successful surgery to remove a bone spur and bone fragments from his ailing right elbow. The Mets said that he is expected to start throwing in about six weeks. Phillies Place Closer Brad Lidge On DL
As reported on MLB.com, the Phillies have placed closer Brad Lidge on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right knee, and recalled catcher Paul Bako from Double-A Reading into his roster spot. Lidge’s disablement is retroactive to June 7.
