Does Minaya Deserve Some Heat For The Delgado Situation?

Injuries, poor performance, Jerry’s invisible dog house, and expectations that were way off, have shaped the current Mets into something nobody could have imagined on April 1st. Omar’s master plan had too many holes and much like last season, it’s success was hinging on a huge contribution from a soon to be 37-year old slugger in the middle of the lineup. Sound familiar? Carlos Delgado may have struck the biggest blow to the Mets this season, when [...]

Time To Swat Some Nats!

Tonight the Mets return to Citi Field, banged up and bruised, but still only a game and a half behind the first place Phillies.  Their next 13 games are to be played exclusively against the Washington Nationals, Florida Marlins and Pittsburgh Pirates.  These opponents have a combined record of 53-79.  The Mets must take advantage of this opportunity so that the next time the Phillies come to Citi Field on June 9, it’ll be them [...]

I Think We Did Pretty Good

When I got home from work this afternoon, I went to check my Facebook profile and I found this wall post from by best friend, who will remain nameless and happens to be a Red Sox fan: “Now I have gloating rights. Sox won 12-5.” Okay, so I rubbed it in when the Mets won on Friday…..and came back in the ninth to stun the Sox on Saturday but yesterday’s game was just pathetic for [...]

Disappointing Road Trip With Amazin’ Results

I have to say that I was rather disappointed with this road trip. I know! I know! They lost one-fourth of their roster. Still, I feel the Mets should’ve really gotten on a winning streak here. They did well against the San Francisco Giants. I’ll take three out of four from them. They were up against a Dodgers team that was without Manny Ramirez. The Mets beat themselves during that series. There was no reason [...]

They were 3 for 10 with RISP and left [...]

Mets Win Series, But Lose Finale To Sox 12-5

After the Mets got a little help from technology to complete a late rally and win a second consecutive game, the Mets look to take game three and sweep the Red Sox at Fenway. The Mets will have their newly acquired Tim Redding who is getting his second start with a 0-0 record and a 3.00 ERA. The Mets will go up against the knuckleballer Tim Wakefield who is 5-2 with a 3.59 ERA. Let [...]
