Farm Report: 4/16 – Mazzoni Keeps Rolling, Lawley Blast Wins It In 12!
LEHIGH VALLEY 8 – BUFFALO 2 AAA RHP Jeurys Familia was playing with fire Monday night and his final pitching line was downright diabolical, letting up 6 runs on 6 hits and 6 walks. After four innings pitched, manager Wally Backman had seen enough and promptly exorcised Familia from the mound in favor of right-hander Dylan Owen. The 25 year old reliever quickly allowed two more runs to cross the plate as things completely spiraled [...]

Farm Report: 4/14 – Domingo Tapia Was Large And In Charge!
PAWTUCKET 9 – BISONS 6 AAA The Bisons were out-slugged for the second day in a row, this time it was the Pawtucket PawSox who branded them with the loss on Saturday afternoon in Buffalo. A crucial fielding error by Zach Lutz in the fifth inning opened the floodgates to five unearned runs, and as a great baseball genius once said, “that’s the ball game.” Second-baseman Bobby Scales came a triple shy of the cycle [...]

Mets Farm Report: 4/12/12
BUFFALO BISONS AAA The Bisons got corralled Thursday afternoon by a score of 7-2 at the hands of the SWB Yankees in Buffalo. A three-run second off Chris Schwinden, and a three-run seventh off Jeff Stevens would provide the Yankees with all the scoring they would need, and they added a solo homer by Steve Pearce off Daniel Herrera in the fifth. Schwinden who struggled mightily with his command, pitched four innings and took the [...]

Mets Farm System Is The Key To Brighter Future
A common thread among all contenders is a strong home-grown core. Teams augment themselves with trades and free-agent signings, but the foundation comes from within. With the exception of left fielder Jason Bay, last night’s line-up was a production of the farm system. Josh Thole, Ike Davis, Daniel Murphy, Ruben Tejada, David Wright, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Lucas Duda and Mike Pelfrey all came from below. Ideally, a team wants to add one player a year from [...]
