The Mets have optioned RHP Collin McHugh to Triple-A Las Vegas and have called up reliever David Aardsma. He will wear number 30.
To make room for Aardsma, Jeurys Familia has been moved to the 60-day disabled list.
McHugh will pitch in Vegas as a starter.

The 31-year-old Aardsma appeared in eight games for Las Vegas, posting a 1.12 ERA with three saves and allowing only three hits in eight innings while striking out 11 and walking seven.
Aardsma missed the 2011 campaign due to Tommy John surgery and has only made one major league appearance with the Yankees since September 19, 2010. He has bounced around between five organizations and once had 69 saves for the Mariners during the 2009-2010 seasons.
It’s likely that Collin McHugh will be optioned to make room for him.
