Nick gives some great insight on his pre-draft process, discusses some of what made his 2023 season so successful, how his deep family ties to baseball helped him to propel to the professional rank, what plans he has to improve this offseason, and much more!
After hitting above .300 across two different leagues in 2023, what was the biggest difference for Morabito from the Florida Complex League to the Florida State League? The immediate answer was, of course, pitching:
“In the first couple of weeks in the FSL, I thought, ‘Oh, the pitching isn’t so different,’ and then we went to Tampa to play the Yankees Low-A team. They had a bunch of good arms, and then after that, there were a whole bunch of good pitchers that I faced, and from there, I started to realize that this was definitely a level-up pitching-wise. In the complex league, there were guys that had some average fastballs, but in Low-A, there wasn’t one fastball that was just…flat. Everything has cut, sink, ride, etc., so you have to be able to make that adjustment.”
