Carlos Beltran Has No Plans To Be A DH
It seems that just about everyone has Mets right fielder Carlos Beltran ticketed for a DH gig in the American League next season, or possibly even this one – everyone that is except Carlos Beltran. “Right now I’m not even thinking about that,” Beltran said. “I want to play in the outfield. I feel like I still can play outfield. If I was terrible in the outfield I would say I need to consider DH. [...]

Is Reyes’ Injury A Good Thing?
Okay before all you Mets fans bash me and say what is this kid smoking, take a second to think. Is this Reyes hamstring injury really all so bad? Yes I know Reyes has been the brightest light in an otherwise dark season for the New York Metropolitans. In what will end up being yet any wasted season in Flushing, Reyes has been unarguably the most exciting player in baseball. On pace to shatter the [...]

My American League All-Stars
The American League was a little easier than the NL, I think. Such depth in the NL outfield and at first base and no depth at all at third base made it difficult to settle. But trying to adhere to that stupid rule about representing each team made it a challenge. Without further ado… C - Alex Avila, Victor Martinez, Carlos Santana Avila and Martinez are no brainers. Santana and Russell Martin could be interchangeable, but I picked [...]

Enough Is Enough, Time To Can The Jose Reyes Trade Talk
With yesterday’s two-hit performance by the soon-to-be 3-time All-Star shortstop Jose Reyes, there seems to be nothing this guy cannot do. He’s raised his league leading average to .351 in a tough 5-2 Mets loss to the Detroit Tigers prior to the start of the Subway Series. More importantly, the 28-year-old now has 15 triples and is on pace for 30, which would set a franchise record. Adding two more steals to his season total [...]
