According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Yankees have acquired Aroldis Chapman from the Reds, in exchange for right-handers Rookie Davis and Caleb Cotham, third baseman Eric Jagielo and second baseman Tony Renda.

Chapman, 27, has been one of the most highly regarded and dominant closer’s in baseball since he defected from Cuba and made his major league debut in 2010.

The flame-throwing lefty owns a 19-20 record, with a 2.17 ERA to go along with 146 saves over the span of six seasons. He also boasts a career 15.4 strikeout rate and 1.97 FIP.

With that being said, the Yankees have officially established themselves as having one of the most feared bullpens in the game, as Chapman will complement Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller to finish off games next season. Good morning, good afternoon and goodnight.

Earlier this month, it looked like Chapman would be taking his talents to Los Angeles, but after being involved in a domestic abuse situation shortly after, the trade fell through and the Dodgers moved on to seek other options.

Though domestic violence issue is of concern, the Yankees will take their chances on Chapman with the hope of a big payoff on the field.

Since becoming a full-time closer in 2012, Chapman has recorded 30+ saves every season, and is widely renowned as one of the elite bullpen arms in the game.
