On Monday night, the Mets defeated the Rays 3-2 in the first game of a three game set in Tampa Bay. Robert Stock earned his first win since 2019, with Mark Vientos adding a home run in his first game back from the injured list.
On Tuesday, the Mets will face a familiar face in Freddy Peralta, who is coming off his best start at a Ray. His ERA with the Rays is 5.60 in five starts after posting a 4.99 in 22 starts for the Mets.

On Monday, Chelsea Janes of SNY reported that Luis Robert Jr. was claimed off of waivers by the Baltimore Orioles.
The move comes after the Mets placed the 29-year-old on waivers, following what has been yet another injury0filled season. In 58 games for the Mets, he hit .223/.303/.399 with 10 home runs and 23 RBIs.
Robert Jr. was best in August, prompting the Orioles to take on the remaining $3 million, as well as the $2 million buyout or $20 million option for next season.
Chase Ford of MiLB Central reported that the Mets promoted OF Aiden Robbins to Brooklyn (High-A). Robbins had a .273 batting average with four home runs and 16 RBIs for the St. Lucie Mets.
Chelsea Janes of SNY reported that Nick Morabito and Justin Hagenman will be September call-ups, and Hagenman will pitch the last game of the Rays series. The team wants to give Christian Scott and others an extra day of rest down the stretch.
