A source told me on Tuesday, that the New York Mets have signed right-handed pitcher Zach Lee to a minor league deal.
Lee, 27, was the Dodgers first round pick (28th overall) in the 2010 draft out of McKinney High School in Texas.
The former top 100 prospect went 12-6 with a 3.65 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 3.06 SO/W in 26 games (25 starts) between Double-A and Triple-A in the Tampa Bay Rays organization.
Lee made his major league debut on July 25, 2015 against the Mets. He gave up seven runs on 11 hits, including the first major league hit for Michael Conforto.
Lee made it back to the big leagues in 2017 with the Padres, he allowed five runs in eight innings.
