According to Mike Puma of the NY Post, Scott Aldred is among the candidates to become the next bullpen coach for the Mets.
Aldred, 50, currently serves as a Minor League Pitching Coordinator for the New York Yankees, a position that he has filled since taking over at the start of the 2016 season.
Prior to that, Aldred was a pitching coach throughout the Yankees minor league system for ten seasons, seven of which were spent at the Triple-A level.
Aldred also has some big league playing experience. He played for six different Major League teams over 19 seasons. Aldred spent time with the Tigers, Twins, Devil Rays, Phillies, Rockies, and Expos. Over 499.2 innings, he pitched to a 6.02 ERA.
