According to The Athletic, the Brewers are among the teams showing strong interest in Mets reliever Luke Weaver. Unsurprisingly, the interest around MLB is high in Weaver. Will Sammon mentions the Pittsburgh Pirates as a team to watch for Weaver, too.
The 32-year-old Weaver has been one of the best relievers in baseball this year with a 1.88 ERA and 0.84 WHIP in 41 innings for the Mets.
Weaver is making $8 million this season and is under contract for $11 million for the 2027 season.
The Mets made a trade late on Thursday night, sending reliever A.J. Minter to the Twins for infield prospects Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick.
The Mets could also deal relievers Brooks Raley and Huascar Brazoban before the 6 p.m. ET trade deadline on August 3.
