New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo left the game in the third inning on Thursday after getting hit on the left hand against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Mets announced that the x-rays on the left index finger of Nimmo were negative.

Nimmo swung at the pitch and technically grounded out to third base though the bat never made contact with the baseball. The pitch made direct contact with Nimmo’s left hand. He stayed down on the ground in pain of a few minutes before the trainer came out.

Jose Bautista replaced Nimmo in right field to start the bottom of the third.

Nimmo singled in his first at-bat of the game to reach base in his 10th straight plate appearance.
