Max Scherzer (8-2, 4.03 ERA) takes the mound for the Mets against Joe Musgrove (7-2, 3.56 ERA) for the Padres. The Mets are 42-46 coming into the final game of the first half. The Padres are 41-47. The Mets will look to take the rubber game after they saw their six-game winning streak end with a 3-1 loss Saturday night.

According to Jeff Young of Fansided, the San Francisco Giants have acquired outfielder Jack Larson from the Seattle Mariners. Larson has been with Seattle’s Triple-A affiliate, where he had a .804 OPS in 103 plate appearances.

Per Major League Baseball, the Detroit Tigers’ Matt Manning, Jason Foley, and Alex Lange combined to throw a no-hitter on Saturday afternoon.
