The Mets posted on their social media accounts Monday that they will reveal their Nike City Connect jerseys on Friday, April 19. In the teaser video, the Mets logo was made purple, suggesting the jerseys may pay homage to the 7 train. The Mets will debut the jerseys on the field on April 26 against the Cardinals.

Brandon Nimmo went 4-for-4 with two homers and a career-high five RBIs, and DJ Stewart snapped his hitless spell with a two-run homer as the Mets erased an early deficit and won a barn-burner against the Braves, 8-7. With the bullpen shorthanded, Reed Garrett tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings, and Jorge López got Travis d’Arnaud to fly out to the warning track to earn the save. Jake Diekman earned his first win of the season.

Adrian Houser (0-0, 1.80 ERA) will take the hill for the Mets against Reynaldo López (0-0, 1.80 ERA) in the second game of the Mets’ series in Atlanta. Houser held the Tigers to one run and three hits over five innings in his season debut. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 PM.

Prior to Monday’s game, the Mets designated Yohan Ramírez for assignment and called up veteran righty Cole Sulser. Ramírez gave up seven runs in 5 1/3 innings across three appearances.

Astros starter Framber Valdez was scratched from his start against the Rangers on Monday due to elbow soreness. The 30-year-old lefty will be evaluated by doctors to determine the severity of the injury.

The Twins have called up infielder José Miranda from Triple-A St. Paul. Daniel Duarte was placed on the injured list with a right triceps strain.
