The MLB uniform fiasco is going to be addressed, Jeff Passan of ESPN reported Sunday after obtaining a memo to the MLBPA. Most notably, the uniforms will have larger lettering on the back of jerseys, and modifying issues the players brought up about their pants. The modifications will come no later than the beginning of the 2025 season.

With the Mets down to their last strike and facing a series sweep, Harrison Bader tied the game in the 11th inning with an RBI single, and Mark Vientos followed with a walk-off two-run homer as the Mets salvaged their series with the Cardinals with a 4-2 win. José Quintana tossed eight innings, only allowing one run on three hits, and Reed Garrett allowed just an unearned run in two innings to earn his fifth win of the season. Garrett joins Jesse Orosco as the only Mets relievers to win five games in a calendar month.

The Mets welcome the Cubs to Citi Field for a four-game series beginning today, with Luis Severino (2-2, 2.67 ERA) facing off against his former teammate Jameson Taillon (2-0, 1.69 ERA). Last season, the Mets and Cubs split their six-game season series, with the Mets taking two of the three games in Flushing. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM.

Before Sunday’s game, the Mets optioned left-hander Josh Walker to Triple-A Syracuse and recalled lefty Danny Young. Walker pitched in both Friday and Saturday’s games.

Carlos Mendoza told reporters on Sunday that Kodai Senga will face hitters from High-A Brooklyn today. Mendoza said he’s looking forward to hearing how Senga bounces back in the following days. Senga is eligible to come off the injured list on May 27.

David Peterson made his first rehab appearance on Sunday, striking five batters in two innings for the St. Lucie Mets. Peterson threw 20 of his 28 pitches for strikes.

The Red Sox have recalled right-hander Naoyuki Uwasawa from Triple-A Worcester. As a corresponding move, former Mets reliever Joely Rodríguez was designated for assignment.

The Marling placed outfielder Avisaíl García on the injured list with a left hamstring strain and called up outfielder Dane Myers from Triple-A Jacksonville. In addition, the team designated lefty Kent Emanuel for assignment and called up righty Emmanuel Ramirez.

1996: John Franco records the 300th save of his career, striking out two to preserve a 3-2 Mets win over the Expos. Franco is the first left-handed pitcher to reach the milestone.

2016: The Mets score a franchise-record 12 runs in the third inning, capped by a Yoenis Céspedes grand slam for their seventh straight win, a 13-1 beatdown of the Giants. Céspedes drives in six runs in the frame. Steven Matz tosses six shutout innings to earn his third win of the season.

2022: Tylor Megill, Drew Smith, Joely Rodríguez, Seth Lugo, and Edwin Díaz combine to throw the second no-hitter in Mets history as the Mets take their series opener from the Phillies, 3-0. Megill tossed the first five innings, walking three and striking out five, Smith struck out four of the five batters he faced, Rodríguez walked two but recorded three outs, and Lugo recorded the final two outs of the eighth inning. Díaz finished off the historic day on the mound by striking out Bryce Harper, Nick Castellanos, and J.T. Realmuto in order.
