Good morning, Mets fans!

J.D. Martinez made his Mets debut on Friday and impressed by going 2-for-4 with an RBI. He started off the game with a ground ball single down the right field line and then added an RBI double that hit the wall in right field. In addition to his two hits, Martinez also recorded two strikeouts, but any doubts about his bat being ready seem to be quashed.

With Martinez occupying the DH space now, the Mets are still going to try to give DJ Stewart opportunities, manager Carlos Mendoza said. He’ll play some outfield and first base. Stewart got off to a rough start this year, but has since risen his OPS to .816.
