The Miami Marlins have placed reliever Pete Fairbanks on the 10-day injured list with right median nerve irritation. It’s been a difficult season for the veteran right-hander, who has posted a 6.02 ERA across 40 1/3 innings. As the corresponding move, Miami recalled southpaw Dax Fulton.

Former Met Huascar Brazobán was placed on the 15-day injured list by the White Sox with a left lat strain. Brazobán has struggled since joining his new organization, allowing seven earned runs across 10 innings.

Susan Slusser of The SF Chronicle reported on Tuesday that Giants starter Carson Whisenhunt was diagnosed with a torn UCL and has been recommended for surgery. Whisenhunt left his start Monday early and it seems his elbow injury is pretty bad.

Former Met Adrian Houser, now with the Giants, left Tuesday’s game with arm tightness. Manager Tony Vitello said he’ll undergo an MRI Wednesday.
