Morning Briefing: Mets Set to Open Subway Series in the Bronx

Good morning Mets fans!

The Metropolitans closed out the weekend in style as Noah Syndergaard paved the way to a 6-1 win over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday with seven innings of shutout baseball.

Todd Frazier continued to light up the offense with a three-run home run and ending the day with a total of four RBI. The team ended their home-stand with a 4-2 record, now sitting just one game below .500 yet again.

The Mets will head to the Bronx tonight as Jason Vargas (2-3, 3.57 ERA) opens up the Subway Series against Masahiro Tanaka (3-5, 3.42 ERA) and the New York Yankees. Tonight’s game is scheduled for a 7:05 PM ET first pitch and can be seen on SNY as well as heard on WCBS 880.
