Jacob deGrom pitched a gem Wednesday night against the best offense in baseball (in terms of team batting average, team OPS, and runs per game). Jacob deGrom was able to last seven innings and gave up a single earned run and three hits while striking out nine batters. Additionally, Brandon Nimmo made an incredible catch to preserve the Mets’ 2-1 lead in the seventh inning. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Phillies traded for right-handed reliever Vinny Nittoli and plan to add him to their big league roster tomorrow. Nittoli intended to opt out of his minor league deal today, but Toronto shipped him to Philadelphia first.

Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports that the Orioles have signed 1B Jesus Aguilar to a minor league deal and he will join the club’s taxi squad in Cleveland today. Aguilar was released by the Marlins a few days ago.

The MLB announced today that there will be a series in Mexico City for the first time. The Padres and the Giants will play on April 29th and 30th at Alfredo Harp Helú stadium.

Pat Ragazzo of Fan Nation reports that the Houston Astros recently offered Michael Conforto a two year, thirty million dollar contract. However, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported later that the Astros said that they are not involved in current Conforto talks.

The World Baseball Classic tweeted that Carlos Correa intends to represent Puerto Rico in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
