Good Morning Mets fans!!

Today, southpaws Jon Lester and Steven Matz will face off in the finale of the Mets-Cubs series. Lester will be the third lefty starter to face the Mets in the past four contests. Meanwhile, this will be Matz’s first start since leaving Tuesday’s start with a strained finger. The game will be on PIX 11 and 710WOR at 1:15 P.M.

We, at MMO, have truthfully run out of adjectives to describe Jacob deGrom. We’ve already used dominant, incredible, impeccable, awesome, controlling, and most importantly, All-Star Game worthy. Yesterday, he continued his Cy-Young caliber campaign with seven innings of one-run ball. Although he allowed seven hits, he minimized the damage, accumulating 13 strikeouts. Overall, Mets pitchers struck out 24 batters, which set a new franchise record. However, their historic strikeout numbers went for naught as Albert Almora doubled in the go-ahead runs in the 14th inning.

The Mets offense is starting to become embarrassing. Michael Conforto tied the game with a home run in the sixth inning, but other than that, the Mets offense was silent.
