The Mets-Marlins game from Thursday night was suspended until 1:10 p.m. ET, if necessary. The Marlins have a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth inning with two runners on and two outs. The Marlins currently have a half-game lead over the Cubs for the final National League Wild Card spot.

Mets prospects Jett Williams, Christian Scott, and others were on hand at Citi Field before the game on Thursday to receive their awards for the 2023 season. Williams was named the Mets Player of the Year and Scott was Pitcher of the Year.

The New York Mets on Thursday announced the following roster transactions:

  • Infielder Jeff McNeil placed on the 10-day injured list with a left elbow sprain. McNeil spoke with media on Thursday and elaborated, saying an MRI revealed a partial tear of his left UCL and that surgery at this time is unnecessary.
  • Infielder Danny Mendick has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse.
  • Left-handed pitcher Joey Lucchesi has been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.
  • Right-handed pitcher Denyi Reyes has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse.
