The crawl to the explosion of the MLB offseason is on, as several decision on player and team options are being made. The Cincinnati Reds on Saturday announced that they declined the 2024 club option on the contract of Joey Votto.

The madness is quickly approaching.

Per Jon Heyman of The New York Post, Marcus Stroman has opted out of his contract with the Chicago Cubs and has decided to become a free agent. He had $21 million and a year remaining on his contract.

The Milwaukee Brewers announced that they acquired right-handed pitcher Blake Holub from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for infielder/outfielder (and former Met) Mark Canha.

According to Jesse Rogers of ESPN, the Chicago White Sox are declining the option on shortstop Tim Anderson. He now becomes a free agent.

Per Dennis Lin of The Athletic, the San Diego Padres declined their two-year, $32 million club option on Michael Wacha. He is expected to enter into free agency.

Per Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald, Josh Bell is staying with the Marlins as he exercised his $16.5 million player option for 2024.
