Good morning, Mets fans!

Chris Paddack was traded to the Twins from the Padres on the eve of the 2022 MLB season opening day. Now, Paddack recently underwent Tommy John surgery that will keep him out until the 2024 MLB season. Bob Nightengale of USA Today was first on the story.

Back in Queens, the good news is that the Mets defeated the Cardinals last night 11-4 to give them at least a tie in the series. The Mets can win the series if they win against the Cardinals today at Citi Field at 1:10 PM EST. The bad news is that Max Scherzer left the game in the middle of an at-bat in the sixth inning. Patrick Glynn has more on the story.
