MLB: New York Mets at Atlanta Braves

The Mets (74-80) beat the Braves (76-77) tonight by a score of 5-0 at Turner Field in Atlanta.

What you should know:

Zack Wheeler was brilliant once again tonight, giving up 5 hits and no runs over 6 innings of work. He struck out 7 and lowered his ERA to 3.49 in the 105 pitch outing.

Lucas Duda‘s 28th home run of the year off of Julio Teheran in the 6th inning broke up the scoreless game and ended up being all the runs the Mets would need.

The Mets tacked on three more runs in the 9th inning on a Dilson Herrera bases-loaded walk and a 2-run single from Eric Young Jr. Daniel Murphy collected his second four-hit game of the season.

Carlos Torres, Jeurys Familia and Buddy Carlyle combined for 3 scoreless innings of relief, not surrendering a single hit over that span.

On deck:

The Mets continue their weekend series with the Braves on Saturday with Jon Niese (8-11, 3.55 ERA) taking on Mike Minor (6-11, 4.74 ERA) at 7:10pm.
