Free agent outfielder Melky Cabrera has inked a two year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays, according to Enrique Rojas of ESPNdeportes.com. The deal is reportedly worth $16 million and is currently pending a physical.

Melky was having a career year leading the National League batting .346 for the San Francisco Giants, before coming up positive for elevated levels of testosterone. He was given a 50-game suspension which he served during the second half and into the Giants playoff run. Due to the Giants deep playoff run that resulted in a championship, Melky served all 50 games of his suspension and will be eligible to play on Opening day for Toronto.

The Blue Jays continue their quest to unseat the New York Yankees as American League East Champions.
