Good Morning Mets Fans!!! Heres a few nuggets from yesterday’s flurry of moves

Padres Negotiating Swap Of Wil Myers and Jean Segura, Mike Leake

According to Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic, the Padres and Mariners have discussed a deal that would send Myers to Seattle in return for Jean Segura and Mike Leake. The Mariners have already started their fire-sale, having dealt James Paxton and Mike Zunino already, and Segura could be the next big name to go. Myers has spent the past four seasons in San Diego as a corner outfielder. Segura, 22, has enjoyed the best three-year run of his career, hitting .308/.353/.449 since 2016. Leake is due $27 Million over the next two seasons.

Yankees Still Looking For Starting Pitching

After adding James Paxton to their rotation on Monday, the Yankees aren’t done adding to their rotation. According to JP Morosi, the Yankees are still looking to add a starter, specifically the likes of JA Happ and Patrick Corbin. A Yankee rotation that entered the off-season containing CC Sabathia, Masahiro Tanaka, and Luis Severino has only gotten stronger as they look to dethrone the Red Sox in the AL East. Happ, 36, was dealt from the Blue Jays to the Yankees at the trading deadline in July and pitched through their elimination from the playoffs. Corbin, 29, has spent his entire career with the Diamondbacks and finished fifth in Cy Young voting after posting the best year of his career. Corbin and Happ have both also been tied to the Mets.

Dodgers and Indians Talking About Multiple Deals

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Dodgers and Indians have been in contact regarding catcher Yan Gomes, an indication that they believe that Yasmani Grandal will not return to the team. Rosenthal sees a match as LA will look to improve in nearly every way, and the Indians have interest in some of the Dodgers’ outfielders, including Joc Pederson, Yasiel Puig, and Alex Verdugo. The Indians have considered a reboot of their current roster, and Buster Olney has linked the Mets and the Indians together on names such as Gomes, Corey Kluber, and Jason Kipnis.
