Good morning, Mets fans!
The Mets replacement plan for Pete Alonso this offseason, Jorge Polanco, has been sidelined for the past six weeks as he has been ailing an achilles injury. Polanco started what is likely to be a relatively long runway back to the majors on Wednesday night, being the designated hitter for Double-A Binghamton where he went 1-for-2 with a single and run scored.
While Polanco understands he will not be 100% for the rest of the season, he’s hoping to get to a point where he can play through minimal pain and avoid surgery.
