Due to inclement weather, Monday night’s series opener between the Mets and Giants has been postponed. On Tuesday, the two teams will play a single-admission doubleheader starting at 3:10 pm. Tickets for Monday’s game will not be valid for entry for the doubleheader.

Pitching Schedule

Alex Cobb (1-0, 3.60 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Giants in the first game, and Tylor Megill (2-0, 0.00 ERA) will make the start for the Mets. Megill is still scheduled to start Saturday against Arizona. Rising star Logan Webb (1-0, 1.29 ERA) will start for San Francisco in game 2, while the Mets are still scheduled to send the three-time Cy Young winner Max Scherzer (2-0, 3.27 ERA) to the mound.

Mets’ Performance in Doubleheaders Last Year

The Mets played in 12 doubleheaders in 2021 and didn’t get swept in any of them. However, they only swept three of them, splitting the other nine, going 15-9 in those games. Unlike last year, doubleheaders will feature two nine-inning games for the first time since 2019.

Giants Look to Keep Winning at Citi Field

Last year, the Giants went 5-1 against the Mets, including a three-game sweep in Flushing in late August. Since Citi Field opened in 2009, the Giants are 23-15 in the Mets’ home and have won 7 of the 12 series there. Since they split one in the stadium’s inaugural season, the two teams haven’t played a four-game series in Queens.
