Good morning, Mets fans!

After rain postponed Monday night’s contest against the Giants, the Mets will play a single-admission doubleheader Monday afternoon. First pitch is set for 3:10 p.m and Game 2 will begin approximately 30-40 minutes after Game 1.

Righty Tylor Megill will face off against Giants right-hander Alex Cobb in Game 1 and Max Scherzer will duel against Logan Webb in Game 2. Both games will be broadcasted on WCBS 880 and WEPN 1050 and will be televised on SNY. The doubleheader’s first game will also be televised nationally on MLB Network.

Left-hander Tony Watson is retiring from baseball after 11 years, according to Stephen J. Nesbitt of The Athletic. Nesbitt, a 2014 All-Star, posted a career ERA of 2.90 while playing with the Pirates, Giants, Dodgers and Angels.

Southpaw Ross Detwiler signed a minor league deal with the Reds, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Detwiler spent the majority of the 2021 season with the Marlins before heading to San Diego to pitch in seven games for the Padres.

Former long-time umpire Joe West is launching a podcast, West announced Monday. “5460: The Joe West Podcast” will launch on May 2.

“I hope the audience will find my experiences and the people I crossed paths with over the last 44 years interesting as I have,” West said. “I’m looking forward to sharing my stories and talking with old friends about the game we love.”
