According to Joe DeMayo of SNY, the Mets are promoting right-hander Garrett Stratton to Triple-A after an impressive run with Double-A Binghamton. The 2025 20th-round pick posted a 1.52 ERA over 29 2/3 innings while striking out 38 batters and walking just two.
Mets left-hander Cionel Pérez began a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday. Pérez threw a scoreless inning, allowing no hits or walks while striking out two on 10 pitches.
The Mets have set their rotation for this weekend’s Subway Series against the Yankees. Nolan McLean, Zac Thornton and Christian Scott are scheduled to start the three games.

1969: During a game against the Cubs, a black cat wanders onto the field in the top of the fourth inning. The cat walks past Ron Santo on the on-deck circle and faces the dugout. Tom Seaver goes on to pitch a complete game and the Mets win 7-1. New York finishes the season on a 18-5 run after the cat game.

The Mets battled back all night and grabbed a 7-6 lead in the eighth on Darryl Strawberry’s solo homer, but the bullpen couldn’t hold it. Jesse Orosco gave up a two-run homer to Andre Dawson in the ninth as Montreal rallied for a 9-7 win at Shea Stadium.
