Morning Briefing: Wheeler Set to Face Cardinals

Good morning Mets fans! Yesterday, Noah Syndergaard had a very strong outing in the Mets 2-1 win over the Houston Astros.

This start was a very positive sign for Syndergaard, who was able to keep his pitch count down (77) over 5.2 shutout innings. He also lowered his spring ERA to an impressive 1.88, while striking out five batters and walking two. Robinson Cano would provide all the Mets offense as he drove in both runs on a two-run blast to dead center.

Today, Zack Wheeler takes the hill against St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha. First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. ET and will be televised on SNY.

Now lets take a look at what else went on in the baseball universe on Wednesday!
