Grandal Signs One-Year Deal With Brewers

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Milwaukee Brewers have signed Yasmani Grandal to a one-year deal, pending a physical. Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the deal is for $18.25 million.

The Mets had reportedly offered the catcher a four-year deal in the $55-60 million range that he rejected. As a result, Wilson Ramos would end up signing a two-year deal with the Mets.

Grandal, 30, declined a $17.9 million qualifying offer earlier this offseason and will cost the Brewers their third highest draft selection.

In 2018, Grandal hit .241/.349/.466 with 24 home runs and 68 RBI to give himself a 120 OPS+ and 3.3 WAR.
