The New York Mets announced a flurry of roster moves on Friday afternoon with outfielder Jay Bruce being activated off the disabled list, Tomas Nido getting recalled from Double-A Binghamton.

In the corresponding roster moves the Mets optioned both Dominic Smith and Jack Reinheimer to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Bruce went 9-25 (.360) with one double, one homer, two RBI and three runs scored in seven minor league rehabilitation games with St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League.

Bruce has been on the DL since June 18 with a sore right hip. The veteran outfielder is hitting .212/.292/.321 in 62 games for the Mets this season after signing a three-year deal last offseason.

Nido comes back up to the majors with Devin Mesoraco leaving yesterday’s game with a stiff neck. Nido was hitting .274/.298/.437 for Binghamton in 85 games this season. He has played in 21 major league games this season.

Smith returns to the minors after going 2-for-6 with a homer and double in his latest major league stint.

The Mets claimed Reinheimer off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks last month and he has a .619 OPS in five games for them.
