The Mets decided on their rotation coming out of the break against the inter-state rival New York Yankees that starts next Friday.
Noah Syndergaard is set to start the first game, followed by Steven Matz on Saturday, and Jacob deGrom on Sunday. Considering deGrom is set to at least appear in the All-Star Game on Tuesday, that will give him four days of rest in between, which is the normal amount.
Meanwhile, Zack Wheeler will likely kick off the following series against the San Diego Padres, with there being a strong chance Jason Vargas returns from his injury for the second game of that series. Ironically enough, Vargas returned from the disabled list the first time to face the Padres as well.
