Tacoma (27-24) 10, Las Vegas (20-31) 4  Box Score

The 51s were held without a hit by Roenis Elias until the seventh inning, when Kivlehan led off with a double. The offense finally woke up in the eighth, with RBI hits from Kaczmarski, Christian Colon, Kivlehan, and an RBI groundout from Smith. Kaczmarski is off to a solid start in the tiny sample of Triple-A he’s had thus far. Phillip Evans was in the starting lineup at third base and drew a walk in his only plate appearance before being lifted for Cody Asche after Wilmer Flores exited the Mets game with lower back soreness. Evans flew to Atlanta in case the Mets decide to activate him.

Church made his first Triple-A start after a solid debut in relief, giving up a run in five innings. He wasn’t quite so effective last night, laboring through four innings on 90 pitches. Purke continued his inconsistencies by giving up a run and throwing only 22 of his 41 pitches for strikes. Regnault had control problems of his own last night, walking four in two innings.

By the ninth inning, with the 51s down 8-4, they decided to just throw outfielder Patrick Biondi out there on the mound to save the rest of the arms. The only out he got was a lineout by former Met Danny Muno. After having already given up two runs on four hits and a walk, with the bases loaded and one out he simply switched spots with den Dekker, going to left field while den Dekker came in from left field to pitch. It was den Dekker’s third pitching appearance of the season. He came in and got two pop outs to get out of the bases loaded, one out jam. He is yet to give up a run this year as a pitcher.

Bowie (23-25) 7, Binghamton (25-23) 0  Box Score

The Rumble Ponies had a very rough game offensively as they were held to just two hits and struck out 12 times. Urena had one of the two hits and now has a very solid .341/.385/.523 line so far in May. Alonso has cooled off from his ridiculously hot April, but has still hit an impressive .278/.420/.533 in May.

James, who had just turned 20 years old earlier in the week, got a surprise call up to make his first start of the season. His night got off to a rough start when he allowed the first three batters to reach base, but he settled in after that and he retired 12 of the next 13 batters he faced. Overall, James’ performance was extremely impressive considering he had never pitched above the Rookie-level before. With his start, James became just the 7th Binghamton pitcher to appear in a game before his 21st birthday. Noah Syndergaard was the most recent pitcher to pitch with Binghamton at such a young age. Binghamton’s bullpen struggled after taking over for James, allowing six runs over the last five innings of the game.

St. Lucie (19-23) vs. Daytona (27-20)

The St. Lucie Mets were supposed to finish their Saturday game that was suspended due to rain and then play another full game, but were rained out yet again. To make up these two games, the suspended game will be completed on June 11 and a doubleheader will be played on June 12.

Greenville (12-36) 3, Columbia (26-22) 0  Box Score

The Fireflies had no offense in this game as they could get just three players on base. Gladu extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a single in the second inning. Sanchez also had a good game, recording two hits including the Fireflies’ lone extra base hit.

Peterson pitched very well again in this start, striking out seven batters and walking nobody in just under seven innings. Peterson has allowed less than two earned runs in all but one of his starts this season. With the way he is pitching, a promotion to St. Lucie should be coming in the near future. Debora came into the game in relief and gave up one run over 2.1 innings.
