Nimmo Scratched From Lineup With Flu-Like Symptoms

Brandon Nimmo was in the original version of the Mets lineup that was set to face right-handed pitcher Luke Weaver today in the series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals.

However, the Mets then decided to release a second lineup that no longer included Nimmo. The reason being for that, according to Steve Gelbs of SNY, is that Nimmo is dealing with flu-like symptoms.

The outfielder had himself a very solid season debut on Thursday in which he reached base three times and scored twice out of the leadoff spot.

Juan Lagares started yesterday and will get the start again today in place of the ill Nimmo. Lagares went 2-4 in his first start yesterday.

Asdrubal Cabrera stays in the leadoff spot for a second straight game as well. He went 3-5 in his first game in that spot of the lineup after going 0-4 on Thursday as the cleanup hitter.
