Brewers Make Offer for Christian Yelich

Craig Mish of Sirius XM reports that the Milwaukee Brewers have put together an offer for Christian Yelich. He also mentions that the team has shown strong interest in the outfielder, but other teams remain in the mix for the 26-year-old.

Christian Yelich has been known to be available ever since the Marlins traded away Marcell Ozuna and Giancarlo Stanton in the hopes of trimming their payroll to around $90 million.

Afterwards, Yelich made it clear that he wants to play for another team, while J.T. Realmuto and the recently acquired Starlin Castro did the same.

Yelich hit .282/.369/.439 last season with 18 home runs and 81 RBIs to give him a 115 wRC+.

He played his first full season in center field in 2017 and recorded -6 defensive runs saved at the position, but in left field has recorded 32 defensive runs saved in his four seasons playing left field.

Yelich is in the midst of a seven-year, $49.57 million contract with a team option for the 2022 season.
