New York has won four of its last five games. The Mets are 5-5 in their last 10 games…New York is 33-47 on the road this season. The Mets are 3-8 in extra-inning games. New York is 14-33 in day games and 37-38 vs. the NL East.

Noah Syndergaard  is expected to throw up to 25 pitches today. He tossed one scoreless inning on Sept. 23 vs. Washington. It was his first appearance since April 30. Syndergaard was on the Disabled List from May 1-Sept. 23 with a partial tear of his right lat. Overall, the right-hander is 1-2 with a 3.18 ERA (10 earned runs/28.1 innings) and 32 strikeouts in six major league starts. Syndergaard was 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA (three earned runs/3.0 innings) in two minor league rehab starts.

Noah Syndergaard is 1-2 over six starts this season and 28.1 innings with a 3.18 ERA, 1.21 FIP and 1.049 WHIP. Last Saturday he returned and threw a very quick inning where he allowed one hit and got a double play, then Harvey came on and things unraveled. Last time he faced the Phillies was on April 20 where he allowed five runs, three earned over seven innings with no walks and 10 strikeouts. The Phillies have the following numbers against Thor:

The Mets bats will deal with Nick Pivetta who is 7-10 over 25 starts and 128.0 innings with a 6.26 ERA, 4.90 FIP and 1.516 WHIP. In his last two starts he has allowed two earned runs over 12 innings with nine hits and three walks. His first start against the Mets this year was splendid allowing one run off one hit in seven innings. His next two starts against the Mets were splendid, for the Mets. In one game he allowed six runs, five earned, over 4.2 innings and in his next start he allowed six runs on 10 hits in five innings. The Mets have the following numbers against Nick:

Jose Reyes has 21 career homers vs. the Phillies, his most vs. any club and his 73 career RBI vs. Philadelphia are also the most. He has 10 homers at Citizens Bank Park, his most in any visiting ballpark.

Kevin Plawecki is 23-for-75 (.307) with four doubles, three homers, nine RBI with a .416 OBP in 26 games since returning to the Mets on Aug. 19.

Brandon Nimmo has a .373 OBP since Aug. 1, ranking third among all rookies. Nimmo was tied for seventh in the majors among all players with 18 walks in September. Nimmo is batting .272 (31-for-114) with a .380 OBP since Aug. 27, spanning 32 games. He has seven doubles, five homers, 18 RBI and 17 runs scored during that span.

Jeurys Familia earned his sixth save of the year last night. He has 106 career saves, ranking fourth on the club’s all-time list. Jesse Orosco is third on the list (107). Familia has allowed one earned run in his last 7.1 innings (1.23 ERA).
