Morning Briefing: Mets Hit Braves With Tomahawk Chop

The Mets will look for the series win against the Atlanta Braves on this afternoon as they send Robert Gsellman to the mound against Julio Teheran. The game starts at 1:35 p.m. and will be aired on SNY.

Last night, the Mets bats came alive in their 7-3 victory over the Bravos. Gavin Cecchini notched three hits and drove in two while Dominic Smith and Norichika Aoki both recorded two base knocks. The team as a whole managed to register 11 hits.

Jacob deGrom looked like himself on the mound as he went seven strong innings. Freddie Freeman‘s homer in the sixth inning was his lone blemish. The right-hander’s final line had him going seven innings, one earned run, seven strikeouts, and two walks.

Jeurys Familia pitched a scoreless eighth inning, while AJ Ramos allowed two runs in the ninth, but finished out the game.
