Check this out from AccuScore Analyst, Tim Williams… AccuScore simulated the Mets’ 2008 season with Rodriguez as their closer to show what a difference he would have made to their bullpen. According to our simulations, the Mets would have won 10 more games with Rodriguez, finishing with a record of 99-63 rather than 89-73. They would have easily won the East and made the playoffs....

In 2006 we loved him, in 2007 we gave him a free pass, in 2008 he became a loathsome figure in the minds of many Mets fans. Of course, I am talking about right handed reliever, Aaron Heilman. The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Cleveland Indians have reached an agreement with former Chicago Cubs closer, Kerry Wood. Apparently, Wood was deciding between the Tigers and the Indians; both teams made aggressive pitches for his services. Wood’s signing comes on the heels of the new deal Francisco Rodriguez agreed to with the Mets. The deal is believed to be two years...
