Hey Mets Fans, Ya Gotta Have Faith!
Sometimes I find it so hard to see the positives in the Mets season, thus far. I spend so much time looking at and thinking about the negatives, that I forget how many times the Mets have overcome adversity in the past. I was thinking about last year when the Mets lost Pedro Martinez and I thought, "oh my God, our season is over!" Of course I was wrong, our season was not over, and [...]

Beltran and Delgado Get Paid Like Superstars, But They Don’t Play Like Superstars
Mike Lupica severely lashed out at Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado in today’s Daily News. Here is just a little bit of what he had to say… Jose Reyes tried to be a star for his team, all the way to the top of the ninth, when he went up there righthanded against Mo Rivera and got the bases-loaded single that brought the Mets to within 11-8. But that was all the Mets had. Because [...]

The Mets Gotta Fight, For Their Right, To Party!
These Mets don’t seem to have the fighting spirit… Sometimes you have to fight for what you really want… Sometimes, you have to do whatever it takes to get that R-E-S-P-E-C-T! That is the Mets biggest problem so far this season. They don’t have the stomach for a good old fashioned brawl. After the Dodgers hit their third straight homer, it was a perfect situation for throwing inside to Juan Pierre and letting the Dodgers [...]

Mets Merized Minor League Report – Part 1
Each week I will recap the Mets Minor Leagues and give you a rundown on their games, highlights, and any significant player news, injuries or promotions. It will be posted in two parts with the first part encompassing the high minors and the second part, the low minors. AAA – New Orleans Zephyrs (36-33) 6/11 – The Zephyrs had a tough time driving in runners as they fall to the Round Rock Express, 5-3. [...]

The Mets Are Down And Out In L.A.
Last night was just another game that was too difficult to watch, and in fact I was overcome with sleep for the last inning. The Mets lost to the Dodgers 9-1, and the game was as ugly as the score would indicate. Just as they had in their previous five contests, the Mets jumped out with an early lead after scratching out a run in the first inning, and then failed to score again for [...]

The State Of The Mets: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly
Paul Lo Duca, who happens to be my favorite current Met, has fallen to second place behind Russ Martin in the All Star voting. I will do everything in my power to make sure that does not happen. Please click on the All Star voting link in the right column and vote for your team. You can vote up to 25 times with one email account, so I expect each of you to vote at [...]

The Mets Hope Orlando Hernandez Can Be Their Stopper
If the Mets think things are going to get any easier for them after losing three straight series to the Diamondbacks, Phillies and Tigers, think again. Tonight they begin a three game series against a Los Angeles Dodgers team that has arguably the best starting pitching in the National League. They meet for the first time since last season’s National League Divisional Series. The Mets swept the Dodgers in that series, and you can expect [...]

The Lean, Green, Hiting Machine Returns From The Disabled List
In March he wasn’t even wanted on the team by most Mets fans. He was hitting about .150 in Spring Training and everyone was hoping for Lastings Milledge to supplant him in right field. Of course, I’m talking about Shawn Green. Tomorrow Green will rejoin the team, and Mets fans will welcome him back with open arms. Shawn Green has gone from least wanted to keeper, and all it took was two months and a [...]

Ledee In, Newhan Out As Mets Shake Things Up
The Mets announced that they have optioned David Newhan to AAA and called up outfielder Ricky Ledee from New Orleans. Here is some of the text from their Press Release… The New York Mets selected the contract of outfielder Ricky Ledee from New Orleans (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League today and optioned infielder/outfielder David Newhan to the Zephyrs. Ledee will wear #9 and will be available for tonight’s game at Detroit. Ledee batted .287 [...]

2007 Mets – You Aint Seen Nothing Yet!
Despite their division leading record, we have yet to see the Mets clicking on all cylinders. Throughout the first two months of the season, they have been plagued by an assortment of injuries that has greatly impacted their ability to score runs consistently. They have now lost three straight for the first time this season, and are on the verge of being swept, also for the first time this season. The Mets finally got Carlos Beltran back [...]

Injury Update – Endy Chavez To Have MRI On Injured Hamstring
The Mets have scheduled an MRI for Thursday morning for Endy Chavez to determine the severity of his hamstring injury. Endy Chavez seemed to be in much pain and some believe a trip to the Disabled List is unavoidable. Chavez pulled up lame while trying to beat out a double play with the bases loaded in tonight’s loss to the Phillies. He had to be carried off the field. Mets Merized will continue to monitor [...]
