Mets Minors Recap: Amed Rosario Hits Career High Sixth Homer

Amed Rosario hit his sixth home run of the season, giving the 51s some insurance runs. Six home runs is a new career high for Rosario. Brandon Nimmo starting to hit better with a .333 average over his last ten games.

Wilfredo Boscan pitched into the seventh and left the game with runners at first and second and two outs. Kyle Regnault let one inherited runner to score, but was able to keep his ERA at 0.00. Bradford collected his eight save.

Richmond Flying Squirrels (23-33) 8 vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies (31-21) 2 Box Score F/7

The Rumble Ponies collected just six hits in the first game of the doubleheader. Kevin Taylor collected the Rumble Ponies only extra basehit as he doubled in the sixth.

The Rumble Ponies defense didn’t help as they committed three errors. Scarlyn Reyes has been struggling after a terrific start of his season. Reyes has allowed at least a run in six of his last seven appearances.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (32-21) 3 vs. Richmond Flying Squirrels (23-34) 0 Box Score F/7

The three mentioned hitters have been hitting well lately, all three have been hitting over .300 in their last ten games. Kaczmarski (.353), Oberste (.333) and Thompson (.323) provided the most of the offense in the shutout victory.

Flexen made his first start of the season for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, after two with the St. Lucie Mets. Flexen was outstanding with a seven inning complete game shutout. After starting the season on the DL, Flexen has pitched to a 1.37 ERA in 19.2 innings.

Columbia Fireflies (31-25) 5 vs. Lexington Legends (29-30) 1 Box Score

Every hitter in the Fireflies line-up had at least a hit as they all combined to collect twelve hits. Sanchez and Lindsay both struggled at the plate in the early season, but have come around as Sanchez has hit .313 over his last ten and Lindsay .324 over that same span.

Merandy Gonzalez threw another scoreless outing, as his tied his teammate Jordan Humphreys improving to 8-1. Merandy is second in the SAL in ERA behind Humphreys (1.40) as the best one-two punch in the organization. Uceta has been impressive in his first season out of the pen. Merandy is one of five Fireflies that have been chosen to play in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game.
