Look Who’s Smiling!

The New York Mets just posted the first picture of Curtis Granderson sporting his new Mets cap and I gotta tell you, this is very exciting.

Sandy Alderson: “We’re looking forward to having Curtis for the next few years.”

Granderson: “I’m excited to begin my career with the New York Mets. Top to bottom the Mets are a great organization”

Granderson is donning his Mets jersey and is at podium with Jeff Wilpon and Sandy Alderson.

Granderson: “David Wright was one of the first people to contact me and the first person to congratulate me. It’s like we’ve known each other our whole career and I’m really excited to get to play with him.””

Granderson: “The fourth year showed me a commitment by the Mets to winning.”

Granderson: ”There are 30 ballparks and pros and cons with each one. A lot of people have told me true New Yorkers are Mets fans.”

Granderson: “It’s going to take the whole organization to improve. With the pieces we have we can do some amazing things.”

Granderson: “Looking forward to playing with Dillon Gee, I’ve played with him before and he’s amazing.”

Curtis Granderson chose uniform No. 3 because it’s his birth month and his mom recommended it. I like that, a guy who still listens to his mom… :-)

– The Mets made him feel needed and wanted and the choice to play for them was an easy one.

– The Mets have the room to improve and I’m happy to help them do that.

– Granderson confirms Mets were only team to offer him four years. No other team went after him as persistently.

– Granderson will earn 13 million in 2014, $16M in 2015, $16 million in 2016, $15 million in 2017.
