The Mets Lady Passes Away
The Star-Ledger reported that Bo Field, 84, of Kearny, N.J., died on Oct. 13, 2012. Known as “The Mets Lady,” she was a diehard Mets fan who was well-known at Shea Stadium. She was a season ticket holder who sat behind home plate and was televised many times.
Bo was the fan who could always be seen rolling her arms to distract the opposing pitcher when Mets batters were up.
She attended many home games and because of her many “cameos” she was asked for her autograph by many people.
Here’s an entry from the Guest Book her family has set up:

Ah…memories from my youth. I remember seeing her many times watching on TV, holding her arms out in front of her and rolling them around over and over.
R.I.P Mets Lady.
OMG, I was just thinking about her the other day, loyal Met fan, rest in peace.
As per Marylou Belles…
“She was also a lifelong New York Mets fan though, surprisingly, that wasn’t what killed her.”
I must admit I don’t recall noticing Ms. Field on television during the telecasts or the reference to “The Mets Lady”, however, thoughts and prayers for your family during this heart breaking time of their lives and please watch over them to give them comfort.
R.I.P. Met Lady, I remember you very well and with fond memories. Tim McCarver used to get a kick out of you.
When I was a kid, my grandma was a HUGE NY Mets fan. One of my favorite memories is of sitting in the den on the floor beside her on the couch, watching the (then not-too-bad) Mets and cheering for them with her. I remember talking about Bo all of the time with grandma. We loved watching her. I always wondered who she was and what happened to her. Hearing of her passing is sad, but brought back happy memories of good times with grandma! RIP Bo. And thank you for the memories!
Bo was my aunt, and it warms my heart to read all of the nice comments. Bo was a wonderful, warm hearted woman. I loved watching the Mets just so I could see my Aunt Bo. The stories she shared were great! Thanks everyone!
